Indian Dance Workshops

Bring a taste of the Indian sub-continent to your school for the day with one of our Indian Dance Workshops. The day can begin with an assembly, introducing the dancer and giving a unique background to the culture and traditions of India.

The dancer will then work with up to 6 class size groups throughout the day, each enjoying classical Indian dances or performing energetic "east meets west" dance moves to music from famous Bollywood movies.

Many of the classical dances involve the use of story-telling Mudras hand gestures, allowing the children to create their own characters and story lines.

Our staff will also use visual aids to introduce the customs and traditions of India including musical instruments, costumes, the Religions of India to include some of the Gods and Goddesses of Hinduism.

Education Group is happy for you to decide how many sessions of dance (up to a maximum of 6) and how long we work with the children on the day. Below are examples of ways that the workshop can be structured but please feel free to alter these to meet your own requirements.
