Three British champions

Choose from three inspiring athletes to visit your school to talk to your children about their incredible sporting careers.  Gail Emms MBE, Alex Gregory and Derek Redmond are great ambassadors to inspire your children.

Olympic silver medallist, Gail Emms MBE, is a badminton athlete who dominated the sport during the 2000s. She says “Having achieved so much in my Olympic badminton career, I can’t wait to work with Education Group to inspire young people to attain their goals.”

Champion rower, Alex Gregory, is a two-time Gold Olympic medallist and was a member of a world-first Arctic rowing expedition. He was also one of only three men in the world to win all consecutive major championships. Alex says, “I am delighted to be working with Education Group as I am passionate about young people having healthy lifestyles and achieving their potential.”

Derek Redmond held the British record for the 400 metres sprint and won gold medals in the 4 x 400 metre relay at the World Championships, European Championships and Commonwealth Games. He is best known for finishing the Olympic 400m semi-final at a hobble having torn his hamstring, the incident even being referenced by President Barack Obama. “I showed the world my determination to finish that race, and have since overcome this set-back to play basketball for England and Rugby 7s. I am proud to work with Education Group to share my story as an example to young people”.
